I just wanted to pass along my praises for the ASL class that Jeffrey Barbieri teaches through Parks and Rec. I have enrolled in his classes monthly since Feb 2026 and I have learned so much over the past few weeks. I have a vested interest in learning ASL because I have two deaf grandsons and I am able to speak to them because of what Jeffrey has taught me.
He is not just instructing us in the language of ASL but the deal culture as well. He makes the classes fun and everyone is learning together. He is very well prepared and sends us weekly emails and makes himself available to help us with extra practice sessions and practice work outside of class. He is an outstanding instructor and I would encourage you to keep using his services in the future.
We moved to Grove City from southern Indiana last August and was thrilled when I found this class so close to us and at such an affordable price.
Again, I give Jeffrey high marks as instructor and I am very happy our paths crossed at this time in my life.

Sign language is a language that I've wanted to learn but didn't know where to start. When my husband and I heard of Jeffrey's class and how affordable it was, especially for the two of us, we immediately signed up. It has been such a delight learning the signs and actually being able to put sentences together that we can use! Jeffrey is a very patient and talented teacher with a great sense of humor. The class is fun and we are learning much without realizing how much can be learned in just 5 weeks. And we have met such wonderful people in our class. I have been wanting to learn sign language for a long time. Jeffrey has a sense of humor, which makes the online class fun. He takes the time to answer questions and sends a follow up email explaining how to sign each word. After a couple of weeks, we are already learning how to sign sentences and have short conversations. I'm left-handed, so Jeffrey is able to show me how to sign as a lefty, which has been extremely helpful.
If you're interested in learning how to sign, have fun while doing it, and have an instructor who has your best interest in mind, then I highly recommend taking classes at Sign in Motion with Jeffrey!!
Jeffrey makes sign language fun and accessible. People come in with little to no knowledge of sign language and by the end of the month they know the alphabet, numbers, greetings and other useful basic words. Enough to have a simple conversation with someone. And he does it all with humor and patience. I can't say enough about what a great experience his classes are!
